Emaar Properties and Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) have launched a new residential project at Expo City Dubai as part of efforts to transform the former Expo 2020 site into a sustainable mixed-use urban district.
The new development, called Terra Gardens, is the second phase of the Expo Living masterplan and will include 560 apartments and townhouses. The wider plan includes five residential communities with a total of 3,555 units, alongside retail, office and leisure spaces centred around Expo Mall.
Emaar said the launch builds on the strong response to the first phase, Terra Heights, and reflects the growing demand for housing in Dubai’s emerging urban corridors. The project is being developed jointly with DWTC, which has played a central role in converting Expo City into a long-term commercial and residential destination.
“With the launch of Terra Gardens, we are taking the next step in realising the vision of Expo Living as a dynamic, sustainable and connected community,” said Ahmad Al Matrooshi, Executive Director at Emaar Properties.
Spanning more than 450,000 square metres, the Expo Living community will feature landscaped courtyards, jogging and cycling tracks, sports and wellness facilities, and proximity to Expo City’s cultural and business attractions.
The project aligns with Dubai’s 2040 Urban Master Plan, which prioritises sustainability, public spaces and transit-oriented development.
DWTC’s Vice President of Real Estate Development, Amer Al Farsi, said the new launch reflects “an important step towards shaping the future of Expo City Dubai” by combining residential, retail and commercial offerings within a single masterplan.
The partnership deepens Emaar’s footprint at Expo City, part of the wider post-Expo transition strategy that has seen the area repositioned as a hub for innovation, business and sustainable living.
